The white deposits are calcium and magnesium salts. We use filtered water low in minerals and a very mild acid cleaner that dissolves these salts without harming the dye. You may need more than one final rinse to ensure every trace is gone.

The escarpment is behind the house, does limestone dust come in constantly?
Yes, the westerly winds bring dust regularly, especially in summer and autumn. Good ventilation and keeping doors and windows clean helps. Carpet in Tuwaiq needs more frequent washing than districts elsewhere.

The suspended bridge and the slopes are close by, does the traffic raise dust?

Yes, white dust covers the colours and makes carpet look faded. White scale can alter the dye if left long. Careful checking and very mild acid may improve colour recovery.
