Why carpets need more than a vacuum

Fibre and dye check
We identify the fibre and test the dye before any water, so we know whether it is wool, cotton or synthetic moquette, and choose a method and products that will not fade the colour.

Beating and vacuuming before water
We beat the rug and vacuum the dry dust from the face and backing before any water. Lifting grit while it is dry matters most, because water turns it to mud inside the weave.

Spot work, stain by stain
Each stain is treated on its own, since coffee is not grease and grease is not ink. We apply the right agent to each mark and let it work before the general wash.

Rotary machine shampoo
We wash the pile with a rotary machine and the right shampoo, so the brush turns and works the dirt up out of the threads rather than just moving it around on top.

Fringes and edges
The fringes and edges are cleaned by hand, because they are the thinnest part and the quickest to fray. We work out the knots and wash them gently so they stay tidy and pale.

Full flat drying
We dry the piece flat with airflow, so it dries from the face and the backing together. Flat drying stops mould, stale smell and curling at the edges.
