Raghwat Al Janoub Maintenance and Cleaning

Yacht cleaning in King Abdullah, Riyadh

North Riyadh is where the city has expanded fastest, with new districts of glass and stone facades. In King Abdullah, moored yachts face pale limestone dust from the plateau and hard supply water, both leaving deposits on metal and glass that build up quickly and need regular cleaning to prevent lasting damage.

Why a yacht needs regular cleaning

  • Stop salt before it pits

Salt residue attacks plated steel and aluminium if it sits for weeks, and the first sign is a small pit that will not polish out afterwards.

  • A smell that stays gone

Damp and salt sit inside the seat padding, and wiping the surface masks the odour for a day before it comes back.

  • Products that spare the finish

Harsh cleaners strip gelcoat and marine paint, leaving the colour faded and blotchy.

  • Ready whenever you sail

A boat cleaned on a schedule stays ready for guests and for the water with no surprises.

Why the job is different in King Abdullah

Pale limestone dust from the desert towards Banban settles on every exposed surface in the district, especially during northerly winds that run strongest in spring. The whole method is set out in our yacht cleaning guide.

  • Scale buildup on chrome and stainless steel

Hard water from the network dries on metalwork leaving white residue that accumulates week on week. Regular cleaning stops this before the deposit pits the metal and dulls its original finish permanently.

  • Damp trapped in seat padding and cushions

Moist air works into seat filling and cushion cores, creating a smell that surface wipes hide for a day and then it returns. Deep cleaning of the fabric pulls moisture out of the fibre itself.

  • Glass and surfaces in the shadow of high-rise buildings

Glass towers in the district reflect sun onto the pavements and entrances near the moorings, which speeds water drying and salt deposit buildup on boat hulls.

What's Included

The hard blended supply water from the network leaves scale on metal and glass surfaces if it dries unwiped, a constant maintenance issue for the moored fleet.

  • Deck wash with marine-safe products

Limestone dust from the plateau leaves a pale layer that dries quickly on the deck; cleaning needs products that do not streak once dry.

  • Salt removed from metalwork

Salt and mineral scale peels from chrome if left weeks on end; early cleaning is easier and gentler on polished metalwork.

  • Cabin upholstery and seating

Cabin upholstery faces dry air from nearby building cooling and outdoor moisture, so cleaning must extract water from the fibres fast.

  • Galley and head

Galley and head suffer from salt blockages in the pipework; we inspect before using the water systems in case discharge is restricted.

  • Glass and portholes

Glass and portholes take direct reflection from tower windows, which speeds water evaporation and deposit formation on them.

  • Bilge and drainage check

Bilge and drainage lines need regular inspection because seawater mineral content affects seals and pump life, and scale blocks the drains.

The character of King Abdullah

Mixed district: shops at street level with homes above them

The district mixes shops on the ground with homes above, and boats may be moored away from their owners' homes. We coordinate arrival times and schedules based on boat location and the shops nearby.

What is different about North Riyadh

North Riyadh is where the capital has grown fastest. Along the Northern Ring Road and King Salman Road, districts such as Al Malqa, Hittin, Al Yasmin, Al Narjis and Al Sahafa are largely new villas in light render, stone and glass, while the King Abdullah Financial District and the towers around Riyadh Front add curtain wall glass and marble lobbies. Beyond Al Arid and Al Qirawan the plots are still being built, so cement dust and fine sand from the open desert towards Banban settle on every surface, and the hard blended supply water leaves scale on glass and stone.

Questions before booking

Is your cleaning safe on modern yacht paint and varnish?

The products we use are formulated not to affect paint or varnish. We assess the finish on site and select the right dilution and method once we see what we are working with.

How do I know if salt has started to pit the metalwork?

It begins with loss of shine and a dull appearance, then slight discolouration shows on exposed areas. Left unchecked, it becomes shallow pits in chrome and stainless that cannot be polished out.

How many times a year does a yacht in Riyadh need deep cleaning?

In north Riyadh with its hard water and desert dust, we recommend a full deep clean every three months at minimum.

Do you clean electrical systems and engine compartments?

We do not enter the engine itself or electrical runs. We focus on external metal, glass, cabin, bilge, drain channels and the enclosed spaces you use.

Will the damp smell disappear completely after cleaning?

Deep cleaning removes the smell at its source in the fabric. If moisture sources remain unaddressed, the smell will return if humidity rises again.

Do I need to remove cushions and belongings before you arrive?

Yes. Clear removable cushions, upholstery and personal items from the cabin. This speeds the deep clean and reduces overall time on the work.

How much does yacht cleaning in King Abdullah cost?

It is set after we have seen the job, because the price follows the size of the place, its condition and the time the work takes. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach King Abdullah.
