Why a yacht needs regular cleaning
Salt stays on the metalwork after every trip, and given weeks it eats the polish and pits chrome and stainless so they no longer shine. Damp works into the seat padding, so a surface wipe hides the smell for a day and it returns. Only a deep clean suited to the fabric pulls what is deep in the weave back out.

Salt residue attacks plated steel and aluminium if it sits for weeks, and the first sign is a small pit that will not polish out afterwards. We lift it off rails, fittings and bare metal before it leaves a permanent mark.

Damp and salt sit inside the seat padding, and wiping the surface masks the odour for a day before it comes back. Hot-water extraction draws the deep grime out of the weave, so the cushion dries clean from the inside.

Deck wash with marine-safe products
We wash the deck and walkways with pH-neutral marine products that will not strip the gelcoat, clearing mineral dust and salt from the corners and channels where it collects.

Salt removed from metalwork
We wipe salt off rails, fittings and bare metal and dry it down, because salt left in place pits chrome and aluminium and they stop taking polish.

Cabin upholstery and seating
We clean the cabin upholstery and seating by hot-water extraction, drawing salt and damp out of the padding rather than the surface, and it dries before handover.

Galley and head
We wash the galley, prep surfaces and the head, clearing grease, scale and odours from the enclosed spaces that get little airflow and tend to hold smells.

Glass and portholes
We clean the glass and portholes and remove hard-water scale, the white marks that etch the surface and stop polishing off if they are left long enough.

We check the bilge and drainage runs, clear standing water, oil and smells, and confirm the water leaves freely before the boat is handed back.
