What is different about Eastern Province

The Eastern Province is the most humid part of the country. Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran and Jubail face the Gulf, where warm salt laden air and summer haze leave a sticky film on glass towers, corniche apartments and the cladding of Aramco and industrial housing, and refinery and petrochemical fallout at Jubail and Ras Tanura adds a fine grey grime. Old local stone is very sensitive and cannot tolerate harsh products. We use very gentle biological products and extended testing before work.

Do white salt deposits return quickly after cleaning?
Yes, internal moisture is constant. Salts return from foundations as long as groundwater levels remain high.

Is cleaning the covered heritage market different from ordinary buildings?
Yes, stone vaulting and roofing traps moisture more. Less ventilation means algae grows faster and drying takes longer.

How can buildings be protected from constant groundwater salts?
True protection needs improved drainage and insulation around foundations. Surface cleaning alone does not solve the root problem.

Do modern buildings around the university need different handling?
Modern buildings are stronger but still suffer groundwater moisture and salts. They need careful treatment but less sensitivity than the old quarter.

Does rain season affect work timing here?
