Why curtains need proper cleaning
Curtains are the largest fabric surface in a room, and they act like a filter across the window. Riyadh's fine, mineral dust settles into the weave far faster than it would in a coastal city, so the cloth grows heavy, dull and stale. On humid days the smell returns, because deep-trapped dust does not come out with a shake or a surface wipe.

You do not climb, unhook or worry about getting the curtains back in order. We take each one down under a numbering system and return it to its own window, and we clean the rails and tracks while they are bare.

A clean curtain still looks wrong if it comes back creased or with its pleats collapsed. We press each piece and re-form the folds, so it hangs straight down the window instead of bunching or falling in uneven waves.

We check every piece and group it by type: cotton, linen, velvet, sheer or blackout, because each one takes different heat and water. This sorting decides the cleaning method before we start.

Wash or dry-clean by type
Fabric that takes water is washed at a suitable temperature with a detergent matched to its colour; anything that would shrink or fade is dry-cleaned. The choice follows the cloth, not one blanket rule.

Rails and tracks cleaned
We clean the rails, tracks and runners where dust and grease build up, so the curtain glides smoothly once it is back instead of sticking or scraping.

Pressing and re-forming the pleats
We press each curtain at a heat that suits its fabric and re-form the pleats, so it hangs straight and even down the window instead of coming back creased.

Re-hung exactly where it was
We hang each piece back on its original window by its number, then check that the edges line up and the drop is straight before we leave, so everything is in place.
